Are
you sure of your salvation? Is
your salvation eternal, Or can you lose it? Eternal Security
The
Bible teaches the doctrine of eternal security. If a Christian is eternally
secure, he will have the joy of not having to worry about his salvation leaving
him every time he sins. If he can be sure of his salvation, he will be free to
work for God and not for his salvation.
The purpose of
this tract is to prove to you from the scripture that the believer is one
hundred percent ‘Secure Forever’. God Saves Us For His Name’s Sake
God does things
for very special reasons. When God does something, it has a definite and holy
purpose behind it.
The
Bible tells us that God saves us “For His Name’s Sake.” God sent his only
begotten Son to earth, to die the death of a common criminal for his name’s
sake. 1
John 2:12
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for
his name's sake. Psalms
25:11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is
great. Psalms
106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might
make his mighty power to be known. Psalms
109:21 But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name's sake:
because thy mercy is good, deliver thou
me. God Preserves Us For
His Name’s Sake
God
highly reveres his name. God promised never to forget his people Israel. Why?
For his “Name’s Sake,” that is why. God has preserved Israel down through
the ages. This is not to say that God did not punish them when they disobeyed
him. Rather, when Israel the chosen nation disobeyed Him, He punished them
severely, but He never destroyed them. And He never will. Israel will exist
forever for “His Name’s sake!” 1
Samuel 12:22 For the LORD will
not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the
LORD to make you his people. Isaiah 48:9 For my
name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee,
that I cut thee not off. Ezekiel
36:22 Therefore say unto the
house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this
for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have
profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Just as God
preserves Israel for “His Name’s Sake,” God will preserve his Saints. Psalms
79:9 Help us, O God of our
salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins,
for thy name's sake. 1
John 2:12
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for
his name's sake.
God gave us his
Son so that we may have eternal life. God gave us eternal life; he did not give
us temporary life as some may try to tell you. John
3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. John
17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only
true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Titus
3:7 That being justified by his
grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 1John
5:11 And this is the record, that
God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. God has given all those that believe in Christ eternal
life. Not once in scripture do you read anything about God giving someone
temporary life.
Our Assurance
lies in the one who saved us. Our
assurance does not lie in our good works, or our church, it does not even lie in
our faith. But rather it lies in the faith of Jesus Christ. That is right, our
assurance lies in the hands of Jesus, the second person of the Godhead. Galatians
2:16 Knowing that a man is not
justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even
we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of
Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no
flesh be justified. The Child of God is
protected in God’s loving hands. John
10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never
perish, neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand. John
10:29 My Father, which gave them
me, is greater than all; and no man is
able to pluck them out of my Father's
hand.
Do You Want To
Have The Assurance Of Eternal Life?
If
you want to have the assurance of going to heaven when you die, first you will
have to repent of you sin. Second you will have to put your faith and trust in
the Lord Jesus Christ. Third, tell God about your decision through a little
prayer. It may go something like this.
Dear
God I am a sinner, I have broken your commandments and I need you to save me. I
repent of my sin (Make a 180 degree turn from your sin.) and I ask you to come
in to my life. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen. Acts
3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be
blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the
Lord;
